Bob Felker, family and patient representative at Craig, has worked with Leo and Marla during her time at Craig to assist with insurance and to coordinate communications amongst her team of therapists and physicians.
Marla admires the beautiful flowers during a walk through Washington Park in Denver on a beautiful fall day.
Marla works with the facial electrical stimulation device that she is using to help recover function in the nerves and muscles on the left side of her face.
Marla experiments with her new Dynavox computer. The touch screen has menus for many common words used in daily conversation and communication, and uses a speech synthesizer to pronounce them. The computer helps Marla with word recall and also practice!
Dan Gibson, a physical therapy assistant at Craig Hospital, says hello to Marla while she works on the exercise bicycle. Dan just returned to work after undergoing back surgery.
Good-bye to Craig! Although Marla will return here for a check-up from time-to-time, her weekly visits to Craig have come to an end, as she will be doing therapies at Valley View Hospital in Glenwood Springs.
Puck, the perfect Halloween black cat, poses next to the jack-o-lantern for which he modeled as Marla carved!
Marla also uses a specially-designed electrical stimulator to help foster healing in the bones and tissues of her right arm. She has given the device a nickname: "Robot."
